BRITTANY HOWARD ZINE

For this design I envisioned a series of zines all focusing on the black front women of rock with this zine in particular focusing on Brittany Howard. I wanted something bold and visually compelling to draw in the reader so I used a black and white theme to push the bold aesthetic and that reflected the aesthetic of Brittany Howard herself. To reflect the bold aesthetic of Brittany Howard, I used the typeface Impact for the titles, and I used the typeface SF Pro Display for a light and airy contrast. I also played around with the treatment of the images throughout the zine in order to keep the reader intrigued. Lastly, I utilized abstract line work to add some grit and texture, as well as, to aid the flow of the pages and to add dynamic movement throughout the zine.
